Amazing details smooth operation

It arrived at my door in sunny australia safely within 7 days of ordering. It was packed extremely well. When opening the box it was hard not to be amazed. Its simply the perfect deltic. Its that good that its convinced me to buy another accurascale locomotive, just have to figure out which 31 i want.

There is no better 00 gauge Deltic on the current market. However, BR Corporate Blue livery, in my view, has never been an agreeable livery; cheap, bland and boring. Accurascale has somehow made it look exciting and vibrant on 55020.

Accurascale have once again excelled themselves with this loco. This is my second Class 55 Deltic the first being the preserved two tone green which is equally as impressive as this one. These really are massive locos and coming in at just under 900g they have such an imposing presence. However in spite of their weight the performance is superb, easily pulling 14 Hornby Hawksworth coaches not only at scale speed but also at an impressive crawl. The fine detail is exceptional and the paint finish and lettering/info panels are absolute top notch with a bag of additional detail parts to fit. Underframe and bogey detail is very fine and realistic so needs care when handling. I like the lighting functions that are available for DC operation especially the drivers control panel lighting that is activated according to direction, nice touch. Superb packaging that ensures safety during transit and storage. Cannot find fault with this model and all at a very reasonable price. Well done Accurascale.

Amazing locomotive, Accurascale continues the great work.

I was blown away by the look and feel of these models (I bought 2). They really do look the part and bring back happy memories as a youngster seeing these stalwarts of the ECML speeding past.
All I need now is a rale of appropriate coaching stock.

Very impressive model that really captures the majesty of these locomotives. Lots of high-quality detail parts, some pre-fitted and others supplied separately. Beautifully resolved exterior and cab interiors. Superb running characteristics, steady as a rock when in motion and very quiet too. Gorgeous retail packaging and very sturdy transit packing. All this for a price that should shame some other manufacturers.

It loses a star for three reasons: firstly, one of the four attached chain-hangers was missing; secondly, some body parts are very delicate and a horn fell off as soon as the loco was turned over; thirdly, the magnetic cover for the decoder is a genius idea but was extremely tight on my sample and not like the easy fit seen in reviews.

Attention to detail is right here, rather than just send another run of the mill model out with a different running number, Accurascale go those further miles and ensure that it is accurate, as in the name, to the core!! Having those details on the cab roof, when the locomotive had horns mounted there, and then removed but leaving some of the attachement parts, makes this model of "NIMBUS" really stand out, another super model to add to any modellers fleet!!

Very happy with my purchase of the above loco. A wonderful model and great service by yourselves.
Many years ago (late 1970's) a friend and myself went behind this Deltic on the 10am Flying Scotsman to Edinburgh, an epic trip and one i will never forget. It was the only time I was hauled by Nimbus as shortly after it was withdrawn, that's why I plumped for this particular version as this was how it was on that day.

I missed out on the earlier pre-ordered Accurascale Deltics, so when a few unclaimed examples were made available again, I jumped at the chance. I already had a handful of Bachmann Deltics, and wanted to find out if the new model was any better? Having bought many of Accurascale's Class 31s and blue sub coaches, I had racked up nearly £50 in loyalty credit, which needed to be used, or else would be lost after the fair time limit, so it made the Deltic price even more attractive. Thank you for that.
The model arrived promptly and well packed, my immediate reaction was the sheer weight of this beast, and it sat majestically on my test-track. It looked great and ran beautifully, I believe I can still buy the sound unit upgrade separately, so will add this in due course. I now wish I had ordered more of these locos earlier, hopefully there will be yet another production run in the not too distant future? BK
