Beautiful model

The model came well packed. The product box however felt rather oversized but if it's necessary to protect such craftsmanship it's understandable. The Loco runs beautifully right from the box and the detail is stunning. If you want a small industrial loco this is the one to get.

Excellent model, decent price.
I already have a few from Hattons.
However I fail to see the need for such a large box-it’s absurd. I presume you’re trying to grab shelf space at retailers. I don’t have shelf space for boxes like that so shan’t purchase any more

My 2nd version of this loverly model. Brought this as NCB Connection. Maybe the box could have been smaller but always well presented. Well done Accurascale!

Disappointing

Lovely little engine spoilt by bad design. On arrival the motor had become dislodged (despite excellent packing) because of a poor design. The spring lugs holding it don't hold. Accurascale are evidently aware of this as they sent me a link to a web page with instructions (incomplete) for fixing it - ie "fix it yourself". Having done that which was a battle to remove the body resulting in minor damage it's evident this fix will be required at regular intervals in the future. What's more it still doesn't run very well. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt and trying a better brand of decoder. I know this isn't an Accurascale design but overall not impressed having been looking forward to this model since Hattons listed it.

a lovely little engine

a lovely little engine, surprisingly weighty with plenty of die-cast metal and nicely detailed

Pretty good model, some very minor drawbacks.

I think it's a great little model, I love the livery, love the way it runs, love the attention to detail and the decorated cab! Their are a couple of things however, I had to re-seat the motor three times for it to run. It runs well now, but is a tad noisey. I'm not a big fan of having to detach delicate details to fix my brand new model that hadnt ran yet. As you had to remove pipping from the boiler. In doing so I scratched mine.

Quality model, very solid build with good detail. However, a major problem concerning the gears did spoil the experience somewhat. When the model arrived I was very impressed but when I went to run the model it did not go. The worm gear had lost contact with the gear train because the motor mounts are poor. I contacted Accurascale and they provided instructions to fix it. Removing the body was complex yet easy. Once you know what pipes to disconnect the body comes of the chassis simply. It know runs well and I am happy with it, although the problem did somewhat dampen the experience. I would still recommend as build quality is very (apart from the motor mounts) good. Service from Accurascale could not have been better.

Great little model.

The packaging is nice and sturdy. The model itself is amazing. A great little runner and stunning to boot.

Solid Model, Good Price, one issue that was thankfully easy to fix.

Arrived undamaged and functional. Box is Accurascale branded, oversized but very sleek looking with a nice reminder of Hattons printed on the side.

Disassembly and DCC Fitting is simple in theory, mildly finnicky in practice as there's a lot of (thankfully) flexible pipework that you have to be careful to not snag. Be wary of the pipework underneath the running board (both sides), the brass capped pipe on the boiler (both sides, mentioned in instructions. Wound up losing both caps on this example but ah well), and the reverser on the chassis block itself (right hand cab side). Assuming you don't get Accurascale's decoder, the decoder size is gonna be very small, somewhere around a GM Ruby series.

I purchased a Lined Dark Blue variant as well. There's a little nook located beneath the saddle tank, in front of the right hand side of the cab and behind the little sandbox. Found some excess lube there as that's where the gear train sits. Mistook it for glue at first but it wiped off easily and didn't mar the finish.

Possible issues: Did not function out of the box. Motor would spin but wheels wouldn't. Turns out the clips holding the front of the motor weren't engaging properly, an easy enough fix with a pair of pliers. Take care not to apply too much force on the clips, while they are surprisingly flexible, there's always a risk of snapping under too much force.

Overall still love the things, technically my first Accurascale branded models, but a very pleasant reminder of my favorite model shop. Keep up the good work Accurascale, can't wait for the Buckjumpers and 57xx!
