Never before produced in ready-to-run form in any scale, accurascale is excited to reveal the latest addition to its eagerly-anticipated range of 4mm/OO gauge Mk.2 coaching stock, the late-style Mk.2c variant with their characteristic small 'air con'-style toilet windows. Famously designed to be retrofitted with air-conditioning equipment, a modification that never took place, 150 vehicles were built at Litchurch Lane, Derby, in 1969-70 to five designs (out of 250 Mk.2c in total), primarily for the London Midland Region: Tourist Second Open (TSO), Corridor First (FK), Open First (FO), Brake Corridor First (BFK) and Brake Open Second (BSO). In the 1980s four further types were introduced, SK and SO (declassified from first class), Corridor Composite (converted from FK for Scottish Region services) and a mini buffet with trolley space, known as TSO(T). All nine of these versions will feature in our production.

  • The most accurate B4 bogies ever produced, with provision for re-gauging to EM or P4 (18.83mm) gauges
  • Blackened RP25.110 profile wheel-sets with 14.4mm back-to-back measurements, and 26mm over pinpoints
  • Different buffers for retracted and non-retracted positions
  • Accurate interiors with characteristic 'winged' headrests, separate metal interior handrails on the brake and corridor vehicles and fully-detailed guard's compartment
  • Correct height NEM standard coupling sockets with mini tension lock couplers and kinematic close-coupling
  • Easy conversion to Kadee-compatiable knuckle couplers
  • Full lighting package, including
  • magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting
  • 'Stay-Alive' capacitor in all coaches
  • directional lighting with DC or DCC control (Driving Trailer only)
  • Minimum Radius 438mm (2nd Radius Set-track)

A great addition to anyones coaching fleet, great moulding of the body. Superb underframe detail, crisp paint finish. The glazing is excellent and shows the internal lighting well. Great price in todays market place, especially when you get multi-buy discount,loyalty points and review rewards on top

Fanastic detail

Usual fantastic detail and I think the lights have been set at the perfect brightness. Coach runs perfectly and I like the permanent power from the track rather than batteries which are also selectable with the magnetic wand still

Accurascale MK2C coaches

It was a long time coming, but when they did you realise the wait was worth while. The amount of detail from top to bottom is outstanding and the finish is crisp and clear. There are extra components you can add on (supplied in a pack) although with my clumsy hands it would be better leaving them in a pack or get someone else who is more adept to fit them. The coaches ran super smooth on my layout and looked fantastic either moving or as a static model. Accurascale have set the bar extremely high and as a result other manufacturers have raise their game as well. Can`t wait for my next loco to come. Ten out of ten Accurascale.

Another hit from Accurascale

These Mk2c are some of the best coaches on the market. Highly detailed with interior lightinging that shows the interior intricacy. I missed out on the Mk2bs but as the prototype 2c's were produced 1969-71 I can still run these with my ACC2624-DCC Class 37 - BR Blue pre-TOPS - D6992. The only wish is that Accurascale would provide at least one brake coach in each of their batches with a fitted working end of train lamp.
