Never before produced in ready-to-run form in any scale, accurascale is excited to reveal the latest addition to its eagerly-anticipated range of 4mm/OO gauge Mk.2 coaching stock, the late-style Mk.2c variant with their characteristic small 'air con'-style toilet windows. Famously designed to be retrofitted with air-conditioning equipment, a modification that never took place, 150 vehicles were built at Litchurch Lane, Derby, in 1969-70 to five designs (out of 250 Mk.2c in total), primarily for the London Midland Region: Tourist Second Open (TSO), Corridor First (FK), Open First (FO), Brake Corridor First (BFK) and Brake Open Second (BSO). In the 1980s four further types were introduced, SK and SO (declassified from first class), Corridor Composite (converted from FK for Scottish Region services) and a mini buffet with trolley space, known as TSO(T). All nine of these versions will feature in our production.

Common Features:
  • Highly-detailed OO Gauge / 1:76.2 Scale Models on 16.5mm track
  • Extremely fine exterior rivet detail on roof and coach ends
  • Separately-applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic parts, including handrails, brake/steam heat pipes, ETH cabling and sockets, footsteps, dummy drophead knuckle coupler, and roof vents
  • Prism Free Glazing
  • Pre-painted etched metal water filler covers provided for customer to install
  • Fully-detailed underframe with numerous separate parts, pipe runs and accurate differences between versions
  • The most accurate B4 bogies ever produced, with provision for re-gauging to EM or P4 (18.83mm) gauges
  • Blackened RP25.110 profile wheel-sets with 14.4mm back-to-back measurements, and 26mm over pinpoints
  • Different buffers for retracted and non-retracted positions
  • Accurate interiors with characteristic 'winged' headrests, separate metal interior handrails on the brake and corridor vehicles and fully-detailed guard's compartment
  • Correct height NEM standard coupling sockets with mini tension lock couplers and kinematic close-coupling
  • Easy conversion to Kadee-compatiable knuckle couplers
  • Full lighting package, including
  • magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting
  • 'Stay-Alive' capacitor in all coaches
  • directional lighting with DC or DCC control (Driving Trailer only)
  • Minimum Radius 438mm (2nd Radius Set-track)
  • Coach Length: 269mm

Top notch

This coach really looks the part. Excellent details and finish. Runs well and is nicely packaged. A useful way to add some first-class accommodation to the fleet!

Mark 2c SC7551

A great addition to anyones coaching fleet, great moulding of the body. Superb underframe detail, crisp paint finish. The glazing is excellent and shows the internal lighting well. Great price in todays market place, especially when you get multi-buy discount, loyalty points and review rewards on top

Mark2c

Such a detailed coach. Amazing detail, a step above any other coach. Great close magnetic couplings work around 2nd radius. Wish I'd ordered more of them.

The ultimate mk2 coaches

After the 2b, now the 2c. These coaches are as big a jump over all makes of RTR Mk2 coaches still made by others, as those were over the older 1980s variants.
They have loads of detail, but unlike some early accurascale models which could loose the odd detail or two when running, these are very solidly built too.
The coaches come with full lighting that can be switched on and off by a magnet (supplied but any will do) which works fine under DC and DCC (I use both).
This means the coaches call out for figures but even here, they are well designed too. The body simply unclips without breaking your nails. It is neither too loose nor too hard. A perfect balance. And with no risk of detail flying off.
These are my ultimate mk 2 coaches. Being perfectly made, decorated and detailed to the highest of standards while remaining robust in the hand.
My only slight gripe is the that the boxes were 40% bigger on the 2c compare to the 2b which I felt was not needed (the 2b being perfectly protected). Which eats up space in my storage spaces. Sure I could throw those out, but few of us do that.
Highly recommended.

Excellent quality

The next instalment of Accurascale’s coaching range doesn’t fail to impress, excellent detail, and interior lighting all at a very affordable price, especially when bought as a bundle.

A welcome model

So good to see an unusual prototype produced as a model - and an extremely fine model.

Accurascale Mk2c CK

Just a few years ago it would have been hard to believe that a ScotRail Mk2c CK would be available at all in RTR form, let alone to this standard. The running qualities, detail and decoration are to at least the same standard as the Mk2b coaches. I particularly like the fact that the white headrest cushions are absent from the declassified compartments on this model. Running qualities and interior lighting are also spot on making this an all round stunning model as d wxcellent value for money.

Simply stunning

We are spoiled. These match or even better the 2b release for quality of paint, detail and the interiors are spectacular. Keep up the good work, team!
