Never before produced in ready-to-run form in any scale, accurascale is excited to reveal the latest addition to its eagerly-anticipated range of 4mm/OO gauge Mk.2 coaching stock, the late-style Mk.2c variant with their characteristic small 'air con'-style toilet windows. Famously designed to be retrofitted with air-conditioning equipment, a modification that never took place, 150 vehicles were built at Litchurch Lane, Derby, in 1969-70 to five designs (out of 250 Mk.2c in total), primarily for the London Midland Region: Tourist Second Open (TSO), Corridor First (FK), Open First (FO), Brake Corridor First (BFK) and Brake Open Second (BSO). In the 1980s four further types were introduced, SK and SO (declassified from first class), Corridor Composite (converted from FK for Scottish Region services) and a mini buffet with trolley space, known as TSO(T). All nine of these versions will feature in our production.

  • Blackened RP25.110 profile wheel-sets with 14.4mm back-to-back measurements, and 26mm over pinpoints
  • Different buffers for retracted and non-retracted positions
  • Accurate interiors with characteristic 'winged' headrests, separate metal interior handrails on the brake and corridor vehicles and fully-detailed guard's compartment
  • Correct height NEM standard coupling sockets with mini tension lock couplers and kinematic close-coupling
  • Easy conversion to Kadee-compatiable knuckle couplers
  • Full lighting package, including
  • magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting
  • 'Stay-Alive' capacitor in all coaches
  • directional lighting with DC or DCC control (Driving Trailer only)
  • Minimum Radius 438mm (2nd Radius Set-track)

Fantastic Model

These Mk 2c coaches are exquisite, the NSE livery is superb, with no bleed between colours, they run superbly, and the built in lighting works very well. Can’t fault them.

Another excellent model

Superbly decorated, and the level of detail (especially the interior detail) is fabulous. The range of coupling options is also impressive. Another excellent addition to my layout, just waiting for a Class 50 of the same quality!

An excellent coach that fills a gap in my NSE rake

These coaches are wonderfully detailed and run well. The mini buffet is a good addition to my NSE rake and will respond well to some light weathering of the underframe. With the magnetic couplings these coaches sit very close together. If I could make a suggestion it would be to include a couple of spare NEM pocket spacers as they are very easy to lose especially as the magnetic couplings are a tight fit. This would be more useful than the spare buffers.

Mk2C Gorgeousness

I'm thrilled with my Accurascale Mk2B & C purchases, however, the Mk2C TSO(T) is just the absolute icing on the cake. The finish is superb, the detail, the interior, the lighting, the packaging - it's like buying yourself a Christmas present and still being surprised when you open it. Great job Accurascale. I did repaint the roof Matt Dark Grey because I wanted a more used look than new and it was a little shiny but with a little weathering, it's just perfect! best item of rolling stock I've ever bought if I'm honest. Thanks Accurascale. Now can you do all the Mk1s and Mk3s too!!! Lol...
